It's been quite some time since these came up for discussion, but I don't recall the pups being anything special. I have an old magazine article somewhere, so I'll try and dig it out and post any interesting info. IIRC, these were part of the Silver Series even though it's not signified anywhere on the axes some had shorter trem arms than usual, and some were sold with a teach yourself cassette.

I'm not sure of the body wood, but the finish should be poly. I'm not aware of some having 21 fret necks and some 22. HM's original Strat had 21. I need to dig that article out. Im real busy until the end of the week, but if you remind me again then, Ill dig it out and report anything useful.

Various Hank Marvin Strat issues were made throughout the 90's, of Japanese, Mexican, and US origin.

Guitarist UK review, March 1992, pp125-128:

Not designed by Hank, nor necessarily tailored to Hank's specs; endorsed by Hank because he was impressed by the quality, value, and playability. (pp125-126)

Colour is flamingo pink, a milkier version of fiesta red, commonly known as salmon pink. Finish is polyester. Neck has a vintaged matt finish. Headstock shape is in between the 58 and the 82. Tuners are good quality sealed Gotohs, instead of the period-correct Kluson-type. Neck is shaped like a 58, which is oft touted as the best ever Strat neck. Fingerboard radius is stated as 7-1/2". Truss rod adjustment is at the headstock. Pickups are MIJ. (p126)

The reviewer recommends inserting a spacer under the string tree, as he says "it pulls the E and B down so drastically as to make tuning instability almost inevitable". The conclusion says "it's a fine guitar". Price was GBP275. No left-handers. (p128)

The picture shows a 21-fret neck with black face markers, a silver Squier logo on the headstock, Hanks signature on the ball, and a white pickguard with same controls and pups.
