Hi Guys
I have just bought an early Korean Squier Strat-serial number E102902.
It was sold on the basis that it was a 1981/2 Squier built with American help/parts and pre-dates the Japanese start-up models in 1982.
It has a black solid wood body with black polyurethane over, a totally lucsious one piece headstock maple neck with a mahogany?? skunk stripe.
The headstock logo says "Squier STratocaster" and under the word "Stratocaster" are the small words "made in Korea" and the " by Fender". Go figure!!
Problem is - I can find NO evidence that Korea made ANY Strats until around 1985. AND - if 'S' = Samick, and 'V' = Vestor, what on earth is 'E'.
Any answers??
