Hey...has anyone tried either an L-500L or L-500XL in the bridge position of a Les Paul? How did it sound? How versatile was it? Which one of those 2 models matches up best in terms of versatility? I'm thinking that the combination of the 500's high end sizzle, plus the low end of the Mahogany body would be a killer full spectrum sound. Thanks!
Also, 250k or 500k pots?
I pose that question primarily for the 500L (as I understand that the 500XL needs 500k pots). Can anyone describe the difference in sound (in any style guitar, not just a Les Paul) when using 250k or 500k pots with the L-500L? Does it cut-through better with 500k? Or do they sound pretty similar? I put a L-500L into my SG, and I switched to 250k pots (to match my L-495 in the neck), but I'm wondering if maybe I shoulda stuck w/ 500k to get the best tone from the L-500L. Thanks alot!
