I'm now seeing this crazy yellow them instead of the normal blue? Is this on purpose?

Yes, thought we'd have a change. Do you hate it?
Not that hard to change back, if members don't like it. Well, I can't put it back exactly the same, but pretty close. There is another skin option I quite like, but the alternating background colours for thread posts are about the same level of brightness as the old colour scheme, so I'd want to brighten them a bit, and the font for posts is also not as clear. So, basically, while there's an essentially more modern version of this new skin, which in many respects I like better, it requires more customisation.

Please feel free to comment on the new verses old skin. Right now, I'm deciding for myself whether I prefer the new scheme or not. If not, I'll put the
blue back. If I end up finding that I have no strong preference, I'll put it to the vote. Basically, I'm trying to improve readability.

I see you've changed to s kind of burlap looking background (or some kind of loose weave fabric?).
I personally prefer a darker background, but the blue was getting pretty stale.

The background is one I took from another Yuku skin. If I find something better I'll change it.

Just tried a bunch of tolex swabs I found, but either they didn't look quite right or didn't fit with the existing font colours. I've put an orange
tolex in the Bass-Gate for now, because funnily enough I thought that was the best of the alternatives I tried. I'm now thinking a smooth light-cream tolex
might do it, but haven't yet come across a suitable swab with nice even colouring. Darker colours require me to work on the fonts, and really don't
want to do too much customising.

> "the blue was getting pretty stale"
I've been thinking about changing it for years. I left it because I'd customised it quite a bit, hadn't really seen anything that really grabbed me that would be relatively easily implemented, and frankly I found the blue under the old ezboard scheme to neither present me with too much glare nor too little light. Right now, I'm finding this new scheme presents me with a little too much glare, and for that reason alone, I just might put the blue back. I have developed increasing sensitivity to light and my general eyesight isn't as good as it was when I was younger.

personally i find this a good color combination
it gives rest to the eyes. maybe there above where you see welcome, that, for me, mid brown color could be darker so the white fonts come out more. would do this for that colour completely where now it is used. i have read that verdana is the font that is a good font for sites with a lot of txt and i think u use it already |

I've applied a new skin, changed the background and a few icons. Also increased some font setting from 62.5% to 100%, which doesn't seem to have made
any difference, anywhere.
I agree that the colours need tweaking, and would eventually do that, if we keep this scheme. Yes, am already using the sans serif font setting that defaults Arial, Verdana, etc, as I much prefer sans serif, and generally use Arial or Verdana for all my own docs.

Not overly excited about the Bass Gate "skin". It's a bit too...dominant for my taste. However, it does match the bass player's shirt (in the
photo at the top of the page). I got an idea that perhaps you could have individual backgrounds for each forum but that might be a bit too confusing...I
don't know.

Nice. The color scheme is nice. It adds a bit of Tolex flair or even some grillcloth vibe. Not exactly Fender Tweed or Tolex (the FDP seems to have that covered), but it still evokes memories of some old amps or guitar cases. I like it. The Bass Gate scheme is cool too. Adds nice variety. Why not! The only drawback is for those times when I want to check out the board at work instead of at home. I do loads of work in SAP. Our company has that program set up with the default blue-based color scheme. Having the FIB open in a half window with SAP in the background was oh so convenient! Blended right in.

I was thinking that if we did keep this scheme overall, I might put the Wilde-Gate back to blue, and apply another skin to the Custom-Gate that's
more in keeping with their ws. But of course that would mean having to maintain four skins, instead of two. Just to use the bass clef 'marker' in the
Bass-Gate requires the forum to have its own custom skin.

I like the color scheme, too. It's easy on the eye. The orange theme in Bass Gate looks very much like the name brand amp covering. I'm not sure what
to think about it...the amp I mean
The font size is a bit too large for my liking. When using my desktop it's passable because I can back off and increase the distance to the screen, but when I switch to my laptop, I feel discomfort when reading. |

Interesting. I don't think I'm seeing much, if any, difference in font size, other than the changes I made in my browser before applying this skin.
And I've just now switched from my external monitor over to my laptop screen, and if anything, I'd need to ramp it up a little for comfort.

If I remove my new Minimum font size setting in Firefox, it gets too small again.

Okay, I've reversed the skin's font setting (back down from 100% to 62.5%), which I said didn't seem to make any difference. It doesn't seem to
make any difference under Firefox, but it does under MSIE.

Lookin' good to me! I agree with hopdybob about the brown title bars, though. A slight green shift (more olive, less pink) might help too.

It's amazing how different the colours look on each of my three monitors! Looks really quite good on my old computer with its Philips 17" CRT @
1024x768. At higher resolutions on my 19" LCD and the 15.4" High Definition LCD on my laptop, it doesn't look as good. Probably looks the worst
on my laptop screen, which is better quality than my larger LCD.

I at first thought I had mistakenly clicked: http://acousticfingerstyleguitar.yuku.com/
I am fine with beige. Maybe the old color scheme was a bit dark and gloomy for us country music people. No, I am not making much sense or contribution here. But I like posting in the yuku. Yet to peak in the Bass Gate... do I need sunglasses?
