What is your favor way of sealing in the cyanoacrylate glue residue, found in the maple immediately adjacent to the frets?
In case anyone is wondering, the issue can be that some finishes are repelled (I think) by the presence of the CA glue film on the maple ( basically unavoidable part of manufacture ) and tend to pool on the adjacent fretboard surface; i.e., the fretboard surface resists leveling
Have you found that applying the nitro slowly helps? Have you tried shellac or a thin layer of wipe on poly as a sealer?Or do you just grin and bear it, waiting until the surface is very hard, then carefully sand to level and respray?
Any questions or observations are warmly invited.
And to those willing to give up a few "secrets", I thank you.
